About Confection Obsession

WELCOME
to the home of Townsvilles very own candy makers

Confection Obsession was one of Townsville’s best-kept secrets—tucked away, whispered about, and adored by those lucky enough to stumble in.

Now? We’ve taken that same handcrafted chaos and dialled it up at our new home on Flinders Street—with more room, more flavour, and more reasons to stick around.
We now offer a cozy retreat in the heart of Townsville City, a place to just be, to gather with friends, make memories and meet new people.

...A Place To Just Be...

We’re not just a lolly shop. We’re a place where sugar meets spectacle—where families come in wide-eyed during the day to watch the magic happen, and locals swing by late into the night for their fix of fun, flavour, and something just a little unexpected.

At the core, we’re still a family-run kitchen doing things the hard way: boiling, stretching, whipping and cutting every batch of candy by hand, right in front of you. No outsourcing, no shortcuts, just bold flavours and unapologetically playful sweets—many of which just happen to be vegan, gluten-free, or allergy friendly.

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • Open kitchen, live demos, and a touch of chaos
    (the good, organised kind).

  • Welcoming to kids, friends, dates, and after-dark sweet tooths.

  • Sometimes really late. Perfect for post-dinner wanderers and night-shift legends.

  • Built on local love, now drawing curious travellers into the fold.

  • Flavours rotate, ideas evolve, and there’s always something new to try.

We’re still that secret locals told their friends about—but now, the word’s out.

Come see what the fuss is about.

Note About Flinders St. East
While it can get busy and intense from about 10pm-3:30am on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday nights, it is very calm and cruisy during the day and every other night.
